An Orientation Programme on “Measles Elimination and Rubella control: Immunization Campaign” was held on 23rd January 2017, between 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in Kadamba Auditorium.
It was organized by the Department of Community Medicine and Department of Pediatrics, RajaRajeswari Medical College and Hospital Bangalore in association with Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka and World Health Organization.
The main objectives of the Programme were to Eliminate Measles and Control Rubella, especially Congenital Rubella Syndrome by the year 2020.
The Resource persons were Dr Arun Kumar, Sub-regional team leader for the State of Jharkand , WHO and Dr Jayanthi, Nodal officer , Department of Health and Family Welfare , Government of Karnataka.
The main points highlighted were regarding plan of pulse Measles Rubella Vaccine immunization for Children between 9 months and 15 years, the role of Medical and Nursing staff in the field, management of anaphylaxis reaction.
