World Blood Donor Day was observed on 14th June 2018 by the joint effort of Blood Bank- RRMCH, Integrated Counselling & Testing Centre-RRMCH, KSAPS, DAPCU, NACO and Lions Club. Program Events for the day were as follows:


1. Welcome address by Dr. Srinivasa. G. A District Tuberculosis Officer
2. Invocation by Dr. Shreya Prabhu
3. Lamp lighting by Dr Asha, District Health Officer
4. Introductory speech by Dr Shushan Shweta. J Assoc Prof Dept of Pathology
5. Impact of Blood Donation on Blood Donors
6. Felicitation of Blood Donors
7. Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sangeetha. S, Prof & HOD, Dept of Microbiology, RRMCH

Smt. Archana Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayath, Bengaluru Urban was the chief guest of the day. Program began by flying of balloons by the chief guest and dean-RRMCH. Chief guest inaugurated blood donation by cutting the ribbon and wishing the blood donors by giving them cap and keychain. Then the program began with an invocation song by Dr Shreya prabhu PG, Dept of Pathology. Dr Srinivasa. G. A, District Tuberculosis Officer, RNTCP, welcomed the Chief guest, Guests of honor and the audience. Dr Asha. T. H, District Health Officer, DAPCU, gave a small introduction about the importance of blood donation. Dr. Shushan Shweta J, Associate professor of Pathology, RRMCH spoke about the history, merits and demerits of blood donation. All the guests were honoured along with blood donors. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Sangeetha. S, Prof & HOD, Department of Microbiology, RRMCH.
