The Department of Nursing, Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital (RRMCH), celebrated International Nurses Day 2026 on 06 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and pride. The celebration was organized around the theme, “Our Nurses, Our Future: Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” highlighting the vital role nurses play in delivering quality healthcare and shaping the future of the profession.
International Nurses Day is observed annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, and to recognize the invaluable contributions of nurses worldwide. In keeping with the spirit of this occasion, RRMCH honoured the dedication, compassion, and commitment of its nursing professionals through a special celebratory program.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Madiwalappa Nagarahalli, Secretary, KSDNEB, Bengaluru, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other esteemed guests included Dr. Sathyamurthy B., Dean, RRMCH; Dr. C. N. Seetharam, CEO, RRGI; Dr. Basavaraj Bandari, Principal, RRMCH; Dr. Praveen Kumar, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Adarsh E., Dean PG (Medicine); Dr. Rangalakshmi S., Dean PG (Surgery); and Dr. Sahajananda H., NABH Coordinator, RRMCH.
The dignitaries addressed the gathering and acknowledged the tireless efforts of nurses in providing patient-centred care and supporting the healthcare system. They emphasized the importance of empowering nurses through education, professional development, and leadership opportunities.
As part of the celebration, the management of Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital felicitated nurses for their outstanding performance, dedication, and exemplary service. Prizes were distributed to recognize excellence and encourage continued professional commitment among the nursing staff.
