A CME on “Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 0n
14th June 2024. It was conducted in Skill Lab, RRMCH by the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Ambareesha Mairpadi, Prof & HOD, Dept of Emergency Medicine demonstrate the changes in BLS & ACLS in 2020 with AHA guidelines and recommendations and presented an overview of BLS and ACLS.
Dr Sowmya Subhra Datta, Asst Prof, Dept of Emergency Medicine took initiative as a high performance team management in Cardiac arrest.
Dr. Shabbir Shekhli, Assoc Prof and
Dr Sowmya Subhra Datta did hands-on training for code blur management of ventricular fibrillation. Pulse less ventricular Tachycardia and Non-shocked rhythms ( A-systole and Pulse less Electrical Activity).
The session was conducted for two different batches of Post Graduates and faculty from
10:30 am to
12:30 and
2:00 pm to
4:00 pm.
About 125 delegates participated for each session. A pre CME Questionnaire and post CME questionnaire were given and feedback form was also collected from the delegates.
There was enough time given for the questionnaires in the “Question and Answer” session. The program came an end with vote of thanks.

This program was conducted by Raja Rajeswari Medical College and Hospital (RRMCH) IEC, it is an independent Ethics Committee of RRMCH registered under CDSCO functioning since past 11 years, in collaboration with Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) and work towards imparting Knowledge, Skills and Training of Research & Clinical Trials.
Objectives of the Program:
To provide an overview of the International Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) and Indian Clinical Trials Database (ICTD).
To discuss the ICH GCP E6 (R2) and the upcoming ICH GCP E6 (R3) guidelines.
To explain the New Drugs and Clinical Trials Rules (NDCTR) 2019.

Theme for this year’s World No Tobacco Day was
“Protecting Children from Tobacco company interference”
An enlightening talk on the harmful impact of the tobacco industry and the health risks associated with tobacco use were highlighted by
Dr Praveen Kumar, Medical Superintendent and
Dr. T. M. Nagaraj Professor & HOD, ENT-HNS followed by a skit performed by postgraduates and interns of the department of ENT-HNS to create an awareness in advocating effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption in children.
The event was attended by Dean, vice principal, Medical superintendent, faculties, post graduates and interns of various departments and ended on positive note.

The department of Paediatrics had organised
NNF Shine workshop on 1st June 2024 in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics in Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital, Skill Lab, CCL building from 8:30 am under the leadership of dr adarsh, head of Department of Paediatrics, coordinator for the program was Dr Sahana. Program was inaugurated by Dr B Sathyamurthy (Dean) and Dr Adarsh E (HOD).
42 delegates from various medical colleges attended the program. Pre-test was conducted before the start of program. The workshop had 8 workstations .of which four work stations were conducted in morning session and four were conducted in afternoon. Eminent faculties from various parts of Karnataka took over the workshop.

Theme:
“Community based awareness and Screening programme on Hypertension”
An awareness program was organized by the Department of Physiology in collaboration with Department of Community medicine on the occasion of World Hypertension Day- 2024 on 29th May 2024. This program was mainly intended to educate the students and public about Hypertension, its risk factors, early diagnosis and prevention in our society as it is one of the most common non communicable disease.
An awareness program was conducted from 10:00 am- 1:00pm. At the beginning of the program Dr Priyanka Singh, Professor in the Department of Physiology conducted a prior sensitization and orientation to community outreach programme for the students followed by brief discussion about Hypertension.
The students were then divided into small groups, led to Kumbalgodu village where awareness camp was held. Faculty from Dept of Community Medicine and Physiology (Dr Vidhya, Dr Vidhusha, Dr .Amareswari VH, Ms Lavanya S and Ms Rashmitha VK) accompanied the students.
Blood pressure was recorded in the camp by the students under the guidance of Interns and staff. The patients with Hypertension were counseled and advised to visit the hospital for further evaluation.
Hand outs on Hypertension awareness and prevention were distributed by the students to the public in the camp. The Handouts were printed with information in local language so that the people could understand easily. Students clarified the doubts raised by the public.
The program ended by taking informal feedback from the public. We received a positive response and requests to conduct more such programmes in future. Feedback from the students was taken through Google forms. Positive feedback was received and students showed interest towards conducting more such programmes in future.

“our nurses our future the economic power of care” by Department of Nursing, Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospitals –
29 May2024.
International Nurses Day is observed on
May 12 every year. This is to commemorate the birth of Florence Nightingale in 1820, the foundational philosopher of modern nursing. The event, established in 1974 by the International Council of Nurses (ICN), also serves to highlight the important role of nurses which has to be fulfil in health care.
In view of this Rajarajeswari Medical College & Hospital , celebrated the International Nurses day on
29th May 2024.
